CATAN – New Energies is Now Available!

It's an electrifying day today as we are proud to announce the release of CATAN – New Energies in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom!

This new standalone game involves managing the energy needs of your societies while not losing track of the pollution level with and against your fellow Catanians. New Energies is rooted in classic CATAN mechanics while giving it a new modern twist with new gameplay elements such as power plants, environmental events and more. 

Catanians need electricity to keep their society thriving and growing. You'll choose whether to build cheaper fossil fuel plants or invest more in renewables. You'll have to negotiate with fellow players to decrease pollution, and discover the many ways to come out victorious.

To celebrate this electrifying release, CATAN Studio is cooperating with Connexus Energy, the Midwest's largest member-owned, nonprofit electric cooperative, to host a launch party at their headquarters pollinator friendly solar farm in Minnesota. 

Come to Connexus Energy in Ramsey, MN from 3 p.m. -  7p.m. CST on June 20. There will be demos of CATAN – New Energies, tours of Connexus's solar farm, live sheep, photo ops, and much more!

Additionally, Connexus provided pollinator-friendly Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs)––retired in CATAN Studio's name––for the amount of power used by the factory in manufacturing the game. Connexus SRECs are certified GREEN-e by Center for Resource Solutions and are tracked and verified by M-RETS.
