CATAN World Championship
2018 - Cologne / Germany
On November 24th and 25th, 2018, the best CATAN players in the world met in Cologne to host the world championship. Board game strategists from 46 countries competed for the title. Quetzal Hernandez from Mexico prevailed against the international competition and took the coveted first place.
In the final, the German Markus Heinze (29) from Berlin, Quetzal Hernandez (34) from Mexico, Jan Christoph Hajek (38) from Denmark and José Miguel Ferrario Parrado (32) from Colombia faced each other. Silver went to Colombia, bronze went to Germany. The final was a neck-and-neck race in which people settled, traded and built for an hour and a half.
