Champion Brewing Company and CATAN Announce Beer Series Collaboration
Champion Brewing Company and CATAN Studio announced today the launch of a series of beers celebrating CATAN.
The first beer in the series is Field Harvest Wheat Ale. Over the next 12 months, Champion will produce six one-of-a-kind, limited-run CATAN beers, each reflecting a different terrain within the game and enabling subscribers to amass the ultimate resource collection.
Champion will host a launch event for the CATAN beers at its Charlottesville Tap House on Friday, September 24 at 5 p.m. for members of the Beverage Club and the public to taste Field Harvest Wheat Ale on tap. CATAN Studio representatives will be on hand with games and activities.
The CATAN X CHAMPION series of beers will be exclusively available to members of Champion’s Beverage Club, a $50 per month subscription service offering local pickup and nationwide shipping.
A share of the proceeds from the CATAN X CHAMPION collaboration series — and all of the CATAN license royalties — will go to support the work of Waterboys, a charity collaboration of NFL and NBA professional players and fans raising money to provide clean, accessible drinking water to one million people worldwide.
Waterboys is a nonprofit sponsored by the Chris Long Foundation. Chris Long, a resident of Charlottesville, Virginia, the home of Champion Brewing Company, is a former American football defensive end who played in the NFL for eleven seasons, and a University of Virginia All-American player.
