Wil Wheaton blogs about “The Settlers of Catan”

Yesterday, Wil Wheaton a/k/a Ensign Wesley Crusher from “Star Trek – The Next Generation” blogged about playing a delicious game of “The Settlers of Catan” during his latest boat trip. [Click here to read his blog.] In his blog he also mentions “Evil Wil”, his bad alter ego he has repeatedly portrayed when guest-starring “as himself” on the famous TV show “The Big Bang Theory” - which lately featured “The Settlers of Catan” as well. We are very delighted that for the second time, “The Settlers of Catan” was featured in the world-famous TV show “The Big Bang Theory” - namely in the 100th jubilee episode 5x13 “The Recombination Hypothesis”. The first time, the guys just played Catan without even mentioning the name of the game, but now Sheldon “unintentionally” delivered the famous, yet naughty “Who has wood for my sheep?" joke - which was, no doubt, absolutely hilarious. If you live in the USA, you can watch the episode in full length for a limited time on the official CBS website. …

The Reform of the Card Game 2010 – Part 11

    Klaus Teuber

Age of Darkness - “The Era of Barbarians” Theme Set In the context of its fictitious history, Catan is situated in the area of today’s Azores and, in terms of size, encompasses all islands of the group. As described in Rebecca Gable’s novel “The Settlers of Catan,” in 850 B.C.E. Catan was first settled by a seafaring Nordic people.
