The Cards

• Master Builder - Can I renounce my right to exchange a card?

  Only indirectly, by returning the selected card to the bottom of a stack.

• Master Builder - If I am the passive player, can I select a card from the stack under which the active player has placed his discarded card?

  Yes. But you may not search the stack that has already been searched by your opponent.

• Master Builder - If I have less than the allowed number of cards in my hand, do I also have to discard a card?

  Yes.

• Master Builder - In a Tournament Game, can I also select cards from my game partner’s stacks?

  No.

• Master Builder - In the Expanded Base Game, can I place the card I have to discard at the bottom of one of the Theme Set stacks?

  Yes.

• Master Builder - What do I do if I have no cards in my hand?

  You'd probably pull a wry face: you may select a card but have to discard it again.

• Merchant - Can I give one of the resources I received from my opponent back to him?

  Yes.

• Merchant - Who determines from which regions the resources are taken?

  The player who hands over the resources. The player who receives them only determines the resource type.

• Plague - Do regions bordering on a Citadel lose 1 resource in the event "Plague" occurs?

  They lose the resource only if they also border on a city that is not protected against the Plague – and in this case, they lose it because of the city, not because of the Citadel.

  Note: Citadels are part of the Catan Card Game – Expansion Set.

• Plague - Do regions bordering on a Metropolis also lose a resource if the event “Plague” occurs?

  Yes.

  Note: The Metropolis belongs to the theme set "Politics & Intrigue", which is part of the Catan Card Game – Expansion Set.

• Plague - Does a region bordering on 2 cities lose 2 resources if the event “Plague” occurs?

  No.

• Production Buildings - Does a Production Building have to be placed directly adjacent to resources in a city, or can it also be placed diagonally above or below the Resource Card on the 2nd building site?

  It can also be placed on the 2nd building site.

• Production Buildings - If I own 2 resources in a region next to a Production Building, what happens if the number of this region is rolled?

  You only receive 1 resource.

• Production Buildings – Do Production Buildings also affect events and actions – for example, when I can select any 1 resource of my choice or take 1 resource away from my opponent?

  No.

• Productive Year - Do I get 2 resources for a region located between 2 Garrisons?

  Yes.
