The Russian language version of "The Settlers of Catan" won the first Russian game contest "Game of the Year 2003". The contest was organized by the authors and editors of 6 Russian magazines -Igromania, Navigator, Armada, Rolemancer, Sredizemie and Game Empire - that are dedicated to different types of games (boardgames, wargames, role-playing games, etc.).

It was supported by the Moscow International Toy & Game Fair and by the Russian National Toy Association.

The contest was planned as the Russian analogue of the German "Spiel des Jahres" or American "Origins Award". Now it became the annual event in the Russian game industry.

My special thanks go to Mr. Nikolai Pegasoff and the good people at Hobby-games Ltd., who made the success of Catan in Russia possible.

Finally, the long anticipated expansion of the ongoing Starship story will continue with the first mission, namely the "Space Amoeba"!

Two Starfarers will be confronted with the Space Amoeba in this scenario. The Space Amoeba poses a threat to the alien people. The alien people requested help from the Starship Commanders, whose mission is to defeat the amoeba. So put on your space helmets and dive into a new Starship adventure...
