The Conquest SF tradition continues with four, fun-filled days of gaming at the San Francisco Airport Marriott. Microsoft has announced plans that it will port European Games, namely The Settlers of Catan® to its Xbox Live Arcade! The announcement was made to the press yesterday at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. Microsoft announced that there will be many new titles coming to Xbox 360 for 2007, among them will be the addition of The Settlers of Catan® for Xbox Live Arcade.

Catan World Championship

The Settlers of Catan® will be featured at the Melbourne Museum in Australia! The Melbourne Museum is the largest museum complex in the Southern Hemisphere and The Settlers of Catan® will be featured in an exhibit there as part of the museum's "Community Collections" this September, 2006. This is the first time The Settlers of Catan® will ever be in an Australian Museum. The exhibit will be a fantastic opportunity to promote the boardgaming hobby to many locals and tourist visitors in Australia and around the world. The Settlers of Catan® as well as other Catan titles will be on display along with many other "famous" board games.

The NYT article “So funny I forgot to laugh” in yesterday’s NYT (fashion and style) shows the creators of the popular TV shows “Will and Grace” and “Weeds” playing a Settlers of Catan board game.

It is unclear at this time, whether they were just sharing a few laughs during the game or whether a “Catan” TV show is in the works …
